Partner
Oldlee is a small software studio in Kuala Lumpur. We have 5 apps: OldSnap, Miaoyu, Weavora, DUOTAP, and Vela, which is still in progress. I'm looking for a full-time partner to decide with me what to build, build it, and get it out to people. It's fully remote, so you can be anywhere.
Why a partner
I come from brand and packaging design, and I took most of these apps from idea to launch myself. With more products, one person can't keep up: deciding what goes into the next version, watching quality, answering users and clients, and handling the day-to-day.
I'm not looking for someone to work through a checklist. I want someone who'll make decisions with me and share the results.
What we'll do together
- Direction: decide what each app does next, what comes first, and what we won't do.
- Product: shape features and the experience, break ideas into tasks, and see them through to launch.
- Outside: talk with users, business clients and partners (for example Weavora's business clients) and bring feedback back.
- Operations: set the pace, keep docs in order, smooth out how we work, including with our new part-time team.
You don't need to be good at all four. Tell me your strongest one or two, and we'll work out the split together.
What I'm looking for
- One or two real strengths, and work you can show me.
- Your own sense of whether something is good to use and good to look at.
- You can explain an idea clearly and carry it through on your own.
- You say so when something can't be done or isn't working, without dressing it up.
- You want to run a studio together, not just have a job.
Things to know up front
- The studio is small. There's no big-company process, benefits package or predictability.
- Pay, equity and other terms aren't decided yet, and this page doesn't promise any of them. We'll talk them through openly, including where the studio stands today.
- Fully remote. We mostly talk in writing online, with video calls when needed.
How to apply
Email lee@eeoo.dev with:
- A portfolio, personal site, or anything else that shows what you've done;
- A short intro: what you're good at, what you're paying attention to lately, and why you want to be a partner rather than an employee;
- The part you'd most like to own;
- Your time zone.
I read every email. If it looks like a fit, I'll reply to set up a video call.
